Administrators act as claims adjusters, authorizing the payment of claims to the service repair facility under the terms of the vehicle service contract – so make sure they have the financial resources to meet their obligations under the contract. After all, the ultimate measure of an administrative company is ensuring that your claims are paid quickly and easily.

How does American Auto Shield pay claims?
American Auto Shield makes claim reimbursement simple for you and your repair facility. By implementing SecureCard from StoneEagle Group, AAS makes claim payments by corporate credit card directly to the repair facility:

  • Only 15-30 minutes for payment to process
  • All you pay is your deductible (if any)
  • No limit on the number of claims you file
  • No need to pay first and then work to be reimbursed

FACT: Since implementing SEcureCard, we’ve doubled our claims productivity, providing a fast and worry free claims experience for our customers. Additionally, by eliminating overcharges and fraud associated with paying claims, we’re able to keep our vehicle service contracts at a competitive price for the consumer.

Can my claim amounts exceed the amount of money I paid for my vehicle service contract?
Yes, however each vehicle service contract has aggregate claim limits. Please refer to the section of the contract titled “Limits of Liability”.

Can I really take my vehicle anywhere for repairs?
Yes. As long as the repair facility is licensed and is located in the United States or Canada, you really can choose any dealer, national chain, or local mechanic to perform the repairs on your vehicle.

No matter how many parts require repair, American Auto Shield customers only pay one deductible per repair visit. Many of our plans offer a zero deductible option, so you’ll never reach into your pocket for a covered repair.

Yes. Simply provide American Auto Shield with a completed Transfer Application along with the transfer fee as stated in your vehicle service contract coverage pages, a copy of the bill of sale or title showing the new owner’s name, the odometer reading at time of sale, and service records from the sale date of the contract showing routine maintenance of the vehicle. Please note that the vehicle service contract can only be transferred party to party and NOT to a dealer.
